Tiago Della Vega is a Brazilian guitarist. Born in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, he began learning to play the acoustic guitar at the age of five. After a year, he realized that the electric guitar was his greatest passion. He started to study electric guitar, practicing 14 hours a day.
Tiago della Vega played with the bands After Dark and Fermatha. At present, he travels around the world playing and doing workshops. He currently holds the Guinness World Records title as the fastest guitar player in the world, playing The Flight of the Bumblebee by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov at 320 beats per minute.
He plays a custom signature Andrellis 7-string guitar which has 24 frets and a Floyd Rose tremolo, the Andrellis TDV.
HERE’S MY LATEST TOOL OF THE TRADE
I love my latest toy! I’ve wanted one of these for a long time. First of all, I needed a banjo I could easily haul around for teaching. Secondly, I wanted something I could keep at hand without the worry of exposing a much more expensive banjo to the daily bumps and grinds of constant practice and handling. This Deering Goodtime is the answer for me. It not only plays like a much more expensive banjo, the sound is nothing less than incredible. It has the brightness and bounciness you want, but is just a little more subdued than it’s heavier brothers. I’m having a blast with it and it’s working out great for all my new banjo students.

MY LATEST GUITAR

I’ve been very busy, but, I want to share my new guitar with you all. I wanted a nice, economical electric guitar to use at the shop and in my studio for teaching. I found one and am very pleased with it. It handles great, sounds fantastic and it’s nice looking. It’s an ESP H 51 and you can see it here.
I have the electric blue, but, it also comes in red. I’m having a blast with it. Next up will be a Deering banjo. I’ll let you know when that one makes it home.

I guess when you’re driving a round speaker, it doesn’t matter what shape the cabinet is really – but I’m just used to seeing big square / rectangular stacks and these triangles are a little different. – JPH
I agree with JP, after 30 plus years in the business looking at the same square boxes, it is a little hard to get used to, but, if it plays, it plays. Check out these 3rd Power Amplification Systems
EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!

I am very excited to announce that I have finished recording a new song with Rick Finch. Rick produced the song, lyrics by Loni Reeder (Rick’s publicist and manager) and music by Rick and Lawana Lanning. The song, GOD IS THERE, will be included on a new Christmas album that Rick will be producing for me. The album is due out around Thanksgiving, if all goes as planned. I am very excited and honored to be working with Rick Finch. You can check out God Is There here. We are planning to donate some proceeds to a charity and I will update that as soon as I know for sure which one.
A SONG TO EASE OUR GRIEF

This past week our family was rocked with unimaginable grief when we lost my brother’s son who was only 28. Loni Reeder, our friend and a wonderful writer/publicist, sent us a poem to help ease our pain. She, too, suffered a loss a week earlier of a young 22 year old friend. Her words inspired this song and I want to share it with you. Thank you for letting me stop for a while and reflect on a young, sweet life, who is now at peace and who is missed terribly.
Robbie, this is for you.
REFLECTING ON LES PAUL

This interview with Les Paul in 1992 is a treasure and should make every guitar player who walks into a music store humbled at the array of “toys” he provided us. He glided over his adversities with the same grace he played guitar and that is a gift to us all.
CHECKING OUT SOME BANJOS AT WILDWOOD MUSIC

Yesterday, we took a short trip up to Coschocton, Ohio, to visit Wildwood Music. I wanted to check out some Deering banjos since I have played them before and was impressed. I was looking for something a little less expensive than my current banjo so I can use it for instruction at the shop.
We had a lot of fun browsing all the guitars, banjos and auto harps. Don and Marty were very gracious and had some great stories from their trip to Elkins, West Virginia. Missing Daybreak also has some good stories from their visit to Elkins. In fact, Something Blue was written there while the Cheat River was rising one night. Check out WildwoodMusic
